Diagnostics & Troubleshooting

Did you know that when you visit Internet sites your computer stores the pages, graphics and other miscellaneous stuff, as you browse? These files use up lots of valuable space on your computer. The result is that your computer's speed slows down.

SOLUTION: From time to time you may:

Go to your WINDOWS folder in your C:\ drive (hard drive)

Place your left mouse button over the TEMPORARY INTERNET FILES file and click. Highlight all the files in that folder, then click delete. You will be asked if you want to delete the COOKIES you highlighted, click yes.

Note: Cookie files are sites your computer thinks you want to access faster next time you are on the Internet. Obviously, if there is a site you do want to access faster you might want to keep that cookie, but deleting it will not affect your ability to access it again.

ADDITIONAL SOLUTION:

Did you know that your computer is like an office. When you access files, it's like opening file drawers in your office and unfortunately your computer doesn't always put things back where you got them. So internally, your computer can be disorganized. That's why it may take it a while to find something you may be looking for.

SOLUTION: From time to time you may clean out your HISTORY files. They serve no purpose but to be there to show you what you've visited. By cleaning them out it's like disposing of all the trash you cleaned up around your office.

Click the START button at the bottom left corner of your screen. Next, click PROGRAMS then click MSDOS PROMPT. Type the following:

CD c:\windows

Press the Enter button on your keyboard, your screen should look like this:

C:\windows>

Now type: deltree tempor~1

Press the ENTER button on your keyboard

Now type: deltree history

Press the ENTER button on your keyboard

Now type: exit

DONE!!!
